Kakehashi Project: Japan National Student Association Fund Visits DC

Wednesday, February 14th, students from the Japan National Student Association Fund of the Kakehashi Project visited the JASWDC office to present on the uniqueness of Japanese culture. The students focused on music, history of fashion and yuru-chara. With a diverse crowd in attendance, the students went into detail regarding why yuru-chara exists and the unique rhythm patterns of traditional Japanese music.

The JNSA students returned on Friday, February 16th, for their final presentations on what they had learned through the Kakehashi Project and their action plan upon their return to Japan. They outlined a plan focused on revitalizing their social media presence and furthering their knowledge of Japanese culture. After their final presentations, the students joined the audience for a networking lunch. The network lunch presented an excellent opportunity for the students to further their understanding and develop more connections with Americans.
